John Williams vs Hans Zimmer, there really is no competition but this was the title of an amazing concert I went to see on 3 June 2023.
If you have seen any of the biggest or memorable films ever made, then you would have heard the music played at this event. Even if you haven’t seen the films, you probably have heard at least one of the pieces played at this event. I am actually ready the autobiography of the event conductor, Anthony Inglis who had more outfit changes than anyone in that performance. His book is called ‘Sit down, stop waving your arms about’, if you are interested in a fascinating and entertaining read. The picture for this episode was taken from my seat, a box in the Grand Tier of the Royal Albert Hall.
Queen Victoria opened the Royal Albert Hall in 1871 as a tribute to her late husband, Prince Albert, and to fulfil his dream of promoting understanding and appreciation of the Arts and Sciences in the heart of South Kensington.
