A is for Autism, part 2 – a film description

By K J Foxhall

Imagine there are a group of 10 people all going to watch the same film.

One is placed in a room with a large screen, ultra high definition, crisp loud surround sound. The other nine are placed in a room with an old style projector and bad quality sound.

After the film the group meets again, will all views be the same? Of course not.

There are many misconceptions when it comes to autism. Autism is a spectrum disorder (which should be renamed as ‘difference’, many do not class it as a disorder). No two individuals are the same as the traits differ from person to person. These traits are often strengths and should not be looked down upon but rather celebrated.

Being autistic is a whirlwind, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. This episode gives more of a visual example of what the world of autism looks like.
