Does your brain feel pain?

No it doesn’t.

Pain is processed through the brain, so when you hurt yourself you have a natural response but the brain (as in the organ itself) feels no pain.

The examples that spring to mind (excuse the pun), are from the films Hannibal (2001) where the main character cuts off a piece of brain and feeds it back to the host (yes, they ate their own brain), and Saw X (2023) where one of the participants has to cut away part of their brain in order to successfully complete a challenge.

A more casual example is the ‘brain freeze’. The pain for this emanates from the roof of your mouth, not the brain being in pain.
